The consumer had applied for additional load and regularized the same. The APTS inspection conducted just after the regularization of additional load, had detected an unauthorized extension and also unauthorized load in the premises of the consumer. The main point of dispute is whether the unauthorized load detected is one and the same that was regularized earlier. The petition was remanded to the Assistant Engineer to review the case and decide the issue afresh as per law.

The shifting of the electric line was done by the respondent without obtaining the consent of the petitioner and against his verbal objection. As a result of the alleged shifting of electric line, the supply to the consumer was interrupted for two days and has caused hardship to the consumer and he is eligible for compensation for the deficiency of service.

A live electric connection was disconnected, without conducting the enquiry who is the registered consumer, whether the service connection is being enjoyed by owner or occupier, whether the request made for dismantling a live electric connection form part of a civil dispute between owner and occupier etc. It is decided that the electric connection shall be restored within 24 hours.
