Change of tariff – wrong fixation of tariff to a government organisation - request to refund excess amount collected – P/261/2012 – Khadi and Village Industries Commission, Thiruvanathpuram.
The audit party of the Accountant General noticed the anomaly on inspection of records and objected payment of electricity charges under commercial tariff to the building occupied by a govt. institution. On receiving a complaint from the consumer, the KSEB had changed the tariff from LT VIIA (commercial) to LT VIB (non-domestic) w.e.f. 15-11-2010. The request for refund of the excess amount of electricity charges collected under wrong tariff for the last 3 years was not considered by the KSEB. This was the cause for the dispute.
