The appellant availed a single-phase domestic connection on 28-01-2009 by remitting Rs.1,500/- towards OYEC charge and further on 28-01-2013 the single-phase connection was converted to three phase under the same scheme. The respondent issued a demand notice to the appellant for Rs.3,850/- on 24-10-2018 towards short collection and later which was revised to Rs.5,350/-. The appellant filed a petition before CGRF, Southern Region, Kottarakkara but the Forum disposed of the petition, ordering to remit the amount. Aggrieved on this, the appellant filed this appeal petition before this Authority. From the analysis and conclusion arrived at, it is decided to quash the demand of Rs.5,350/- issued to the appellant. The respondent shall issue a revised demand for Rs.2,350/- towards the short-collected amount and the appellant shall remit the amount within 15 days from the date of receipt of the demand.

The petition pertains to an electricity bill for Rs.2,868/- including the period of Lockdown. The premises is being used for domestic purpose and connected load is 3 KW. The request of the appellant is to reassess the bill as argued by him. There is no revenue loss to the appellant by the way of period of meter reading and method of billing done and hence, the appeal is devoid of any merit and hence, dismissed.

The appellant is running a small-scale industry having an electric connection bearing Consumer number 1156307025257. The APTS of KSEBL conducted an inspection within the premises on 14-02-2020 and decided that ‘V’ phase of the energy meter was reading 42.652% of the actual consumption due to the improper contact. The appellant was given a short assessment bill for Rs.72409/- for compensating the revenue loss. Aggrieved on this, the appellant filed this appeal petition. From the findings and conclusions arrived at, it is decided to quash the short-assessment bill for Rs.72,409/- issued to the appellant.
