Allegation of misuse of tariff. The inspection by KSEB reveals that some salaried people live along with the service connection given under Paying guest Tariff. All service connection in the premises was changed to commercial tariff. Bill issued for the previous months for the irregularity committed. Dispute over the penal bill and request for eligible tariff to his connections.

The Ombudsman has decided on a Petition that the NIIT Franchisee comes under LT VI B tariff only and will not fall under ‘Self Financing Educational Institution which attracts a commercial rate tariff. As the institution was running only computer related courses and since there exists specific tariff for Computer Institute as LT VI B, it has to be allotted. The KSEB requests to review the Order.
